Created Future Vision Proof of Concept
After the feedback from the presentation, we decided to make the gameplay mechanic of the future vision our main focus for this week. We performed the following tasks in addition:
-Added further controller mapping.
-NPC movement implemented
-You can pick up/interact with stuff
-Took care of the general outline of the level.
-Added music to the level.
-Created a time limit for the level where the music's speed increases when the time is close to being up.
-Implemented the future vision and added a shader to that vision so it looks different.
-Created three puzzles that need the future vision in order to be solved.
The first puzzle involves seeing someone falling in the future due to a water puddle and cleaning the puddle up in the present before that could happen. The second puzzle involves that same person who was about to fall now robbing the burger joint in your future vision and you giving them flowers in the present to prevent that from happening. The third puzzle involves stepping on a pressure plate to open a door and activating the future vision to find a code that is behind the door.
Next week we'll focus on finishing up the first level of the game. So this will include polishing up what we already have (movement, winning/losing, the puzzles) and adding in finishing touches (models for example).
We realized we want to experiment with the shaders in unity a little bit and so we'll spend some time researching that when we can to make the future vision look better. In addition to that, from the feedback we recieved from the presentation we learned the scope of the game may have been a bit too ambitious. We took it down a bit while trying to make sure we still keep true to the themes and main features we had before.
