Making the Beta


  • Added a staff room with security cameras.
  • Added a bathroom.
  • Added windows to the structure.
  • Imported models in assets folder to scene
  • Fixed scaling
  • Adjusted FOV and FPS arms placement
  • Standardized and added every single art asset model so far in the Google Drive
  • Add controls button to main menu.
  • Add audio to main menu.
  • Add Throw Trajectory Indicator
  • Add dialogue with blocking cashier where you ask them to mop up the puddle.
  • Add code to Interactable.cs that allows you to define actions that are fired after x interactable uses.
  • Remove question mark from red herring interaction with cash register cashier.
  • Change logic of moving cup making npcs mad (detect movement).
  • Fix the fact that smoker doesnt collide with items.
  • Add ability to put cigarette in cups (only applies to old lady's atm... and it destroys the cig..)
  • Improve cigarette causing fire, when dropped, detection system (likely leverage cigarette collision).
  • Make it so trying to pick up the old lady's cup actually has you drop it on the floor by accident, causing the puddle future.
  • Some minor misc bug fixes (mainly with item boxcast check + minor fix with level timer).
  • Pick up and Drop are now the same button! Throwing is what interact used to be!
  • Added 'piechart' that shows how much time left until bad future
  • Added different notifications for when something bad happens, something good, and something neutral
  • Changed outline for interactables and pickup-ables.
  • Added new controller scheme UI picture to menus.

This last week, our team's focus was primarily on getting some more playtesting data, and then using that to finalise our beta build. We had separate playtest sessions with friends, mentors and even a few people from Ubisoft.

Moving forward our main goal will be to finalise any and all game mechanics by the end of this week, and then work on polishing everything so that the game feels as good as possible.

From the playtesting sessions, we learned that there are still a few UI/UX/communication issues that need to be worked on. That's something that will definitely be a priority when we work on polishing up the game
